Average Lowcountry household: every 3–5 years. Bigger family or smaller tank: closer to 2–3. We can inspect and tell you where you actually stand rather than guessing.
Annual inspection, sludge measurement, pump/baffle check, mechanical component test (for advanced systems), and a written report. Bi-annual adds a mid-year check, required for Fuji Clean and other ATUs.
Yes, every septic install in South Carolina requires a DHEC permit. We handle the entire permitting process as part of any installation we do, including soil evaluation and the site visit.
Typical conventional install: 2–3 days of fieldwork once permits are approved. Fuji Clean or other advanced systems: 3–5 days. Permitting varies by county but usually runs 2–4 weeks.
An aerobic treatment unit from Fuji Clean USA. It treats wastewater to a much higher standard than a conventional tank, which means it works on lots where conventional systems can't, small footprints, high water tables, or sensitive soils. We're a certified Fuji Clean installer.
The bi-annual service is required and costs about 2× a conventional annual plan. Pump-outs are less frequent, though. Over 10 years, the total cost difference is smaller than most people expect.
Get a DHEC-certified pre-purchase inspection. We dig to the tank, pump it, inspect the components, and file a full written report. It's the single most important contingency in a Lowcountry home purchase.
Three tells: standing water or soggy patches over the drain field, slow drains through the whole house, and repeated backups. We can assess, and if it's replaceable vs. repairable, we'll tell you honestly.
Stop running water (no laundry, no dishwasher), avoid the tank area, and call us. If it's after hours, the same number goes straight to on-call. We dispatch 24/7 within the tri-county area.
Usually not urgent, but don't ignore it. Most alarms mean a pump has failed or the tank has hit high-water. Call the same day. It won't fix itself and waiting turns a repair into a replacement.
No. A healthy tank generates its own bacteria. The marketing is better than the product. Spend the money on a real pump-out schedule instead.
Yes. Permitting, soil eval, excavation, install, inspection, backfill, and restoration. One crew, one number, one invoice.
